Background;

Tiddlywinks Pre-School was originally registered in 1994 to serve the children on the waiting list for a place at Leyland Methodist Infant School. The pre-school was set up in a classroom within the main Infant school building and was run by a committee that included parents and the headteacher and governors of the school. The setting was then open five mornings a week offering nursery education for children in their pre-school year. The current owner was employed as a qualified teacher in 1996 and over the years as more funding became available and demand for places increased, the setting opened for the full school day. In 2012, with the full backing of the school and committee members, Mrs Conway took over the running of the pre-school. The business was registered as a limited company and re-registered with OFSTED to reflect the changes.
Over the years many changes have been made as we have strived to continually update our environment and the staff team has been added to as numbers of children  have grown. In 2014 with the support of the school and a grant from the local authority we were able to add an additional building to enable us to provide for children from two years old.
The main strength of the setting is the dedication and consistency of the staff team. Turnover of staff is minimal and all staff share the same ethos and are well qualified and experienced in working with children in those vital early years.
